Michelli and his goons kidnap Lamont, tie him to a chair in a building saturated with gasoline, then set it afire. The Shadow visits Laurie, the landlady, to question her involvement in the frame-up that occurred in her boarding house. Learning that Michelli and his men are planning a hijacking and her boyfriend, Snipe, plans to double-cross Michelli, The Shadow races out of town to apprehend the criminals. After foiling Snipe’s attempt to eliminate Mi-chelli, The Shadow forces him to confess how he framed Lamont Cranston, knowing there was bad blood between Michelli and Cranston. The police take all the criminals into custody, and Lamont is cleared of any wrongdoing.
