Is there any chance someone could fill in pages 114 & 115 of the issue from July of 1943 "The Golden Doom"? Those pages are missing from the microfilmed copy that was on Archive. The short story affected is "Death in Panama" by Stephen Gould and I haven't been able to find a reprint of the story online.

Also the microfilmed issue from January 1944 "The Crystal Skull" is missing pages 6 & 7. If the ads in this Shadow issue matches the Western Story issue exactly for the same month 6 is an ad and page 7 is The Shadow Says.

I've added 2 more collections to my Shadow CD Sets, I've added Legends of Radio The Shadow & The Shadow's Greatest Radio Adventures. With Legends of Radio I've also included a copy of "The Curse of the Cat" which I've removed that annoying hum from along with the episode as included with the hum. I also realized I hadn't converted Rare Radio Gems to 256 m4a and it's been reposted as the smaller files.

Today is my birthday, so I thought I would share a gift with all of you.

I commented a while back that I was working on something with the scripts I've found, and here is what I've gotten done so far. . . I still have scripts I haven't done yet, and I have a few transcripts that I've been working on and off on.

All I've done is run the scripts through OCR software and exported it as RTF files, I've then read over it, run spell check on it and fixed up any errors. My reason for doing this was that I just wanted to have them all looking the same instead of them looking like the hodge-podge of sources they came from.

I've also made brand new transcripts of most of the transcripts I found, there are 2 or 3 I haven't finished yet. There are also 2 transcripts I've made from the Australian recordings, and I do plan on doing more of those.

Here are my new PDF's, the original source PDF's, the RTF files and for the episodes I've transcribed the original recording of the episode. If you read along with a transcript while listening to the recording please let me know if you hear anything I missed.

I hope you enjoy!

Is there anyone who has the Sanctum Reprints listed below that would be willing to scan and send me a copy of the radio scripts published in them? I only want copies of the radio scripts I plan to buy the reprints eventually, at the moment they just cost too much for me to get them. Anyone who shares scripts with me will get an advance preview at what I'm working on with the scripts I have.

I'd also love to trade scripts with anyone that's interested, though there's a good chance we'll mostly have the same ones.

There is a new episode of The Shadowcast posted yesterday

A few days ago there was a new episode posted by The Shadow Recreation Series from April 1st 1951 The Golden Deceiver

I've got a new addition to my cd sets I shared just before Christmas, from 2002 Rare Radio Gems

I've also just added my reconstruction of the very first Shadow comic to Archive

 Season Greetings

Here's a little present for you all.

I've re-ripped all my Shadow cd sets and present them to you here as the cd sets. I've also scanned and made pdf's of the booklets (which I've not seen shared anywhere.) To complete things I've included a folder of the episodes that don't appear on the sets I own, along with all the reconstructions I've found.

Hope you all enjoy!

Found another recreation episode for "The Silent Avenger".

Have you come across any recreations online that I haven't? Are you or someone you know going to be doing recreations? If so let me know, I'd love to get audio copies if possible. Plus I might be able to help supply a script or 2, some that haven't been done yet.

This year marks the 5 year absence of any Shadow cd releases from Radio Spirits. Their last collection "Evil Lurks" was released back in 2017 and nothing from them or Conde Nast since. With the boom in audio drama's as "podcasts" you'd think we would have gotten a small season of 5 to 10 recreated missing episodes or at the very least an official Shadow channel on Spotify or Itunes with decent quality copies of the existing episodes.

But we've gotten absolutely nothing!

I've been wondering if the reason Conde Nast hasn't done anything with the existing episodes is because they don't actually own any of the transcription discs. If don't have the original source recordings to work from you can't really do anything. It seems like a logical answer, but I could be wrong. Maybe they're just putting some distance between the Radio Spirits sets and their own, cause why re-buy episodes you just bought a few years ago?

If the sound quality was good enough I'd re-buy them! Lately I've been listening through my collection and  (it's been awhile since I last did that) I've got to say I'm disappointed with the sound quality on some of the episodes. The worse sounding ones were all intact with commercials from the 40's. Now, I only own the "18 episodes on 9 discs" sets Radio Spirits released starting with 2008's 'Knight of Darkness', The Story of The Shadow cd set and The Making of a Legend box set, so I can't speak to the quality of their earlier sets. I'm wondering if maybe the earlier sets included better sounding episodes that were missing the commercials. I've been meaning to compare the episodes included with The Story of The Shadow and the Making of a Legend with those on the other sets I have, but haven't had a chance yet.

Before I start going off rambling anymore, I guess the long and short of it is, something needs to be done with The Shadow. All this time and we've only gotten the Patterson novel. Why not hire someone (I am very available to do this for you) to edit together a collection of the first season of scripts for The Shadow and release a very nice hardbound edition. As a bonus, throw in a script from when The Shadow was narrating. That should be a huge money maker, or even better license out scripts for amatuer theaters or podcasters to preform.

Maybe even turn to a global powerhouse bring The Shadow back to radio, literally.

In the 1950's when television sets became cheaper and more popular, audio drama's here in the U.S. died. However in the U.K. (I think in part due to the television license) radio drama's continued to thrive. BBC Radio 4's "The Archers" has been on the air since 1951, having aired over 19,500 episodes, it is the world's longest-running drama by number of episodes. It makes sense, they have recording studios, they have voice actors, most of their big radio shows get cd releases 90% of everything could be handled by the BBC. All Conde Nast would have to do is provide the scripts and handle distribution outside of the U.K.

If any of these ideas are used I'd like a 5% commission on any profits. lol Not gonna happen but I can dream.

Why not even work out some kind of deal with Grace Gibson Productions in Australia to get more of the episodes they recorded released? A vast majority of the episodes Grace Gibson chose to recorded are now part of the lost/missing "original broadcasts" and can give us episodes we never thought we'd hear. There are some Grace Gibson recorded episodes that had the names changed and as far as I know no one knows what the original title was, who knows what episodes might be found. Right there you have a huge untapped source of Shadow episodes waiting to live again.

All in all I think what I'm trying to say is, we don't want a revamped poor imitation of The Shadow, we want The Shadow that we've loved for years. Focus on celebrating the past, reissue full replicas of The Shadow Magazine issues, it doesn't have to be 4k but do a decent restoration of the movies from the 30's and 40's, the same with the 1940 serial and tv pilots and give us more radio episodes new recordings or original I don't care I just want more Shadow.

Spent most of yesterday (and part of this morning) working on this cover. Let me know how you think I did. I'm very slowly figuring out how to do these things as I go along. The hardest part was trying to match the font used.

Also added a couple more of the 1960's Belmont books to my Archive, just need to track down actual book scans of Shadow's Revenge and Night of The Shadow to have them all.

I've been doing a bit of counting and adding just for the fun of it. I've been counting up Shadow radio episodes and here's what I've come up with. I may be 1 or 2 numbers off maths isn't my strongest subject.

214 episodes digitally remastered. These are the ones released by Radio Spirits in the 18 episodes on 9 cd sets.

27 episodes not remastered. Some of these were on earlier Radio Spirits releases but never got on the new sets. A few of them I was not able to find an official release of. This also includes the partial episodes in 1947.

33 missing episodes with recreations available.

19 missing episodes with Australian broadcasts available.

293 episodes available from the 680 originally broadcast.
