Synopsis:
Zeta, a phony spiritualist, has tortured the mind of Ms. Eugene Van Dek, a wealthy widow, until she is on the verge of permanent, incurable insanity. Zeta and her two colleagues, Dude and Paddy, were hired by Ronald Langford, Ven Dek’s son-in-law, in the hopes that the widow changes her will so he will inherit her millions. The Shadow attempts to interfere, but Dude gets smart and sprays stray bullets about the room, wounding Lamont and locking him in the escape-proof room. Using his telepathic abilities, Lamont calls on Margot for help. Two days later, Margot has had enough of the beckoning and phones the police to visit Zeta’s office. The police make the arrests and Margot drives the wounded Lamont to a bridge where The Shadow pretends to be Mrs. Van Dek’s late husband. He convinces her that suicide is not the best way to join him. He then orders her not to contact him again, but to stick with her original intentions and care for their daughter. Mrs. Van Dek agrees and thanks her late husband for the advice.
