Synopsis:

Dr. Willard is dying from an incurable heart condition. Having invented a machine that will cause time to repeat itself, he spends New Year’s Eve squandering what little time he has on life’s pleasures which he can never pay back — including poisoning his cousin, Hughes. At the stroke of midnight, December 31 starts over again, and only Lamont and Margot are conscious enough to notice the changes; the rest of the world is unaware that the entire day is repeating like a broken record. Realizing he is fighting a terrific unknown force of nature to keep his will intact so that he may save the doomed world, Lamont follows his friend Hughes to the home of Dr. Willard. Unseen, The Shadow slips into the house and changes the course of events — including giving Hughes the antidote and smashing the devilish time machine. No sooner does The Shadow succeed than time reverts to normal, one second after the stroke of midnight, welcoming in the New Year.
