Synopsis:
Fearing what counterfeiters will do to his family if he talks, Michael Sullivan is sentenced to one year for withholding state’s evidence,. Sullivan ran a grocery store that the counterfeiters used to circulate phony money. Lamont convinces Sullivan’s daughter, Mary, to bluff that she knows the identity of the “big man,” forcing the crooks to kidnap the girl and take her to the man in charge. The Shadow tails the kidnappers to the hideout where they ultimately exchange gunfire. The last man standing is the boss of the ring. Threatening to blow the entire boathouse to pieces rather than be taken by the arriving police, he throws the switch only to learn that The Shadow has already cut the wires. Commissioner Weston and his men arrive and handcuff the boss. After learning how Mary Sullivan risked her life for her father, Weston promises that Sullivan will be released.
