Written by:
Announcer: Ken Roberts
Cast: Bill Johnstone (Lamont Cranston/The Shadow) Agnes Moorehead (Margot Lane)
Synopsis:
In the spirit of the holiday, Margot donates time and money to a local orphanage. After stumbling upon two young boys in the streets taken in by a police officer for shining shoes in the shopping district when they were told not to, Lamont sets out as The Shadow to question them and other youths in the orphanage. There, he discovers the children live in an air of tension because Mr. Moseby, the head of the orphanage, is pocketing the funds. He starves the children and makes them work and beg on the streets. The Shadow pays Mr. Moseby a visit on Christmas Eve to set things right for the friendless children. Facing the threat of jail, Moseby agrees to spend the stolen money on the children. With The Shadow at his side, he buys the best turkey, food and toys that can be found. On Christmas morning, having seen the smiles on the faces of the children, Moseby apologizes for the past and promises to make good in the future.
Note:
This is the only episode of the season that did not receive a rebroadcast during the second Goodrich Syndicated Summer Season. It was replaced with a new episode written and recorded just for the Syndicated summer season "Conversation With Death".
