Synopsis:

With cooperation from the governor, Professor Van Ralt performs an experiment on death row inmate Red Foley with his newly developed cyclotron chamber. Joining a crowd of reporters are Lamont and Margot, observers of the test meant to prolong the life span of human beings. When something goes wrong, Foley becomes nothing more than a pile of ashes. The next day, Lamont and Margot witness a glowing man seeking deadly vengeance on the professor. In the meantime, Foley is alive and well and trying to make it to the West Coast to start a new life. Foley’s initial escape was pre-arranged with the professor but before he can tell The Shadow how he managed to survive he dies from a fatal bullet wound. Back at the laboratory, The Shadow meets the man with the glow radiating from his body — Eric Gloster, the professor’s assistant. After killing the professor in the chamber, Gloster explains that the professor sold out to Foley in exchange for the money that was supposedly un-recovered. The professor attempted to murder Gloster when he caught on to what was happening but the side effect was radioactive energy coursing through his body. Gloster dies moments after admitting his guilt.

This episode will be re-written as “The Chamber of Death!” broadcast on October 22nd 1950.
