Synopsis:

On a dark and stormy night, Lamont and Margot venture to the foothills of the Denmoor Mountains and the creaking ancient hostelry known as the Denmoor Arms to meet Will Markham who works for a movie factory. While scouting the estate for its possible use in a movie, Markham found two fresh corpses instead. Lamont and Margot see the bodies — one hanged and the other shot in the temple — and find Will, alive but locked in a coffin. Sometime in the past, the old widow of seafaring Captain McGow committed three murders, and then plunged over the cliff to her death. But Mrs. McGow is really alive and roams the hallways and rooms, searching for a treasure her late husband hid within the manor. Will and Margot venture to the attic and find the treasure. Discovering that Will plans to betray her and keep the treasure for himself, Mrs. McGow attempts to kill the man who helped her murder the two stray bums and summoned Lamont to locate the hidden treasure chest. The Shadow interferes, making sure both parties are turned over to the police. As for the treasure, it lost value over a hundred years ago — Scrip issued by the pirate government.
