Synopsis:
Tricked into a warehouse which is to be converted into a television studio, Lamont and Margot find the body of a young man stabbed with a knife. When Cranston tells his friend, Skid Davis, a screwball Broadway director, about it, Davis and his cast hurry upstairs to the main floor where someone used the dead man gag as a cover for murder. Aged character actress Josie is found dead from an apparent heart attack and Lamont attempts to narrow down the suspects to catch the killer. Finding a love letter among actress Diane Whiteford’s personal effects, Margot discovers that Skid was in love with her. Skid murdered the young actor in a fit of jealousy and then killed Josie to cover it up. He planned to make Josie’s accident look like a murder but she suffered a heart attack before the intended guillotine could do the job. Skid attempts to use Margot as a human shield and make his escape but The Shadow arrives to save the day.

This episode was a rewrite of “Preview of Terror” broadcast on June 5th 1949.
