Synopsis:

Jack Prescott, creator of the comic strip villain, Hypo, is the latest target of a mysterious killer who continues to elude the police. The killer uses poison but how it is administered baffles the doctors because no mark is left on the victim. Margot goes undercover to question Dr. Shoemaker, who specializes in poison, but Lamont quickly discovers the man has asthma and could not have committed the crimes. Suspecting Prescott’s handyman, Harry Borden, Margot visits the residence only to discover that Prescott is himself the killer. In a loyal effort to shield his boss from suspicion, Harry made what looked like an attempt on the cartoonist’s life with a watered-down toxin. At the peak of mental exhaustion Prescott’s mind snapped and he reverted to a character of his own creation — a schizophrenic committing crimes. A new hypo-spray was used to inject the poison, leaving no marks on the victims. Prescott kills Harry but The Shadow arrives to save Margot from the same fate and ensure Prescott is turned over to the police.
