Synopsis:

Told through flashback, Lamont recounts the details of his search for J. MacDonald, an artist friend residing on an island paradise in the South Pacific. Lamont and Margot discover that Oly, a white man known as the White Witchman, has taken command of the natives in a fiendish plan to steal all the pearls they farm from the waters. Lamont and Margot are tied to trees to suffer the hot, broiling sun, but are rescued by the princess Laola. She and her devout family were the original rulers before the White Witch-man took command and ordered their sacrifice. The White Witchman recaptures Margot and Laola’s family for another sacrifice until The Shadow appears, and proving the Witchman has no more magic, starts a native uprising. Back in New York, Lamont and Margot find themselves trapped in a room filled with gas leaking from a stove and Oly ready to strike a match in revenge. Margot and Lamont need only minor treatment at a hospital, but the White Witchman received the full force of the blast.
