Synopsis:

Grace and Jane Cummings at the Weldon Orphanage are adopted by two wealthy spinster sisters known as Aunt Anna and Aunt Olivia. Together they live in a great big house without any servants but with a collection of queer Tibetan books in a private library. On the grounds is a spooky mausoleum. When Aunt Olivia dies, her sister ensures she is not embalmed and has her unceremoniously placed in the tomb. Later that same evening, a pale, ghostly ribbon of light oozes from under the door of the mausoleum. As the days continue to pass, Grace takes on the personality of the late Aunt Olivia. At Jane’s request, Lamont and Margot visit the estate and, hours later, Aunt Anna passes away. After she is entombed in the same manner, Lamont and Margot witness the ghostly light trying to go for Jane’s throat. Having prevented the first attempt, Lamont is forced to play possum while Grace confesses that she and her sister learned more about the black magic of the East. She is Aunt Olivia and took great pains to ensure young bodies for transmigration. While attempting to put Margot out of the way so her sister can invade the body of Jane, Grace is shocked to meet The Shadow in the mausoleum. After knocking the gun out of her hand, The Shadow sees Jane pick up the gun and shoot a bullet into the skull of each of the spinsters. Grace crumbles to the floor and the personality of her aunt vanishes. While Margot wonders what kind of effect the attempted transmigration left on the youngsters, Lamont writes it off as emotional strain induced by Grace’s confused mind, but that of course, is a strictly human explanation.
