Synopsis:

John Reynolds turns to Commissioner Weston for protection. His maid was attacked the night before by a gigantic hulk of a man. Notes left behind at the scene of the crime threaten the lives of John’s family, closing with “the precipice called death.” Commissioner Weston insists it was merely a robber who attempted to silence the screaming maid but when the body of John’s wife is found the police take John in as the prime suspect. The Shadow convinces Commissioner Weston to let John return home as bait in a trap to catch the real murderer. When a small, grotesque man named Tom Veitor appears at the Reynolds residence with the giant, the solution is revealed. Fifteen years ago, Veitor accidentally slipped from a cliff, leaving John with a fortune from a formula Veitor created. Now Veitor wants revenge. The Shadow finds himself facing an obstacle when the giant, under hypnosis and in the command of Veitor, cannot be blinded by Lamont. Before the giant can trap The Shadow, Margot fires a gun, accidentally shooting Veitor. No longer able to control the giant, Veitor finds himself the victim of his own instrument of evil.
