Synopsis:

Desperate to learn the formula for a new type of explosive, foreign agents kidnap Professor John Hardy and beat him savagely, causing the professor’s mind to snap. In town, Dr. Waldeck, a doctor of psychic research and master of mental telepathy, is kidnapped by the same agents, hoping that he can pierce the subconscious mind of Hardy. Following a cry for help in the form of thought transmission, The Shadow sets out to save Waldeck. On board the Star of Zealand, a cargo ship bound for another country, The Shadow faces Ivan, a huge brute, and Victor, the mastermind. Margot, meanwhile, contacts the Coast Guard, which intercepts the ship. Confronted in a closed room, The Shadow overpowers Victor and arranges for him to be turned over to the authorities.
