Synopsis:

Professor Brown and Dr. Forbes of the local university employ The Shadow to help them with an experiment they claim will be vital to the country’s defense. Making neither heads nor tails of the six strange boxes, The Shadow does as he is instructed until he discovers their true purpose — the machines generate invisible rays that create heat strong enough to melt steel and concrete. It’s a clever plot to destroy the entire city. In a falling out with the professor, Dr. Forbes murders his associate and later reveals to Margot that he plans the complete demoralization of the whole country. The Shadow arrives moments before Forbes attempts to use one of the machines against Margot. Shooting towards The Shadow’s voice, Forbes fails to defeat his nemesis while the invisible avenger points out that the boxes have since been destroyed. Defeated, Forbes uses the final bullet on himself.
