Synopsis:

Joseph Cain commits the perfect murder of his wife. Thanks to sworn testimony of his good friend and employee George Brush, the grand jury refuses to bring an indictment but Cain insured his wife for a large sum of money shortly before her murder, leaving Lamont to suspect foul play. As the weeks pass, Cain is tortured by the voice of his dead wife. Driven out of his mind, he commits a series of murders, including that of Brush and an innocent taxi driver. Lamont and Margot venture to Cain’s cabin at Sea Cliff in hopes of questioning him. Margot, too close to the truth, almost becomes another victim until The Shadow interrogates the killer. “They will give you the justice you deserve!” laughs The Shadow. Weeks later, Cain is ready to face death and still haunted by the voice of his dead wife, willingly walks to the electric chair.
