Synopsis:

Lamont and Margot bump into an ex-vaudeville performer named Memo, the Memory Wizard, who is suffering from a severe case of amnesia. Spig Hanson and his mob have apparently been beating Memo into telling the whereabouts of his stolen loot, worth a small fortune. Not trusting anyone in the mob, Spig arranged for Memo to act as a living account book and hide the loot in a complex combination safe. Memo tried to sell Spig’s secret to rival mob head Case Sawyer for ten thousand dollars and discovered the other mob works under the same code. Attempting to flee for his life from both mobs, Memo is captured by Sawyer and his gang at the waterfront. When the Hanson mob arrives, a miniature gang war erupts, and The Shadow helps Memo escape the raging bullets. In the basement of an old, deserted vaudeville theater, Memo opens the safe using the combination — he was faking amnesia — but not quick enough, as The Shadow locks Memo in the safe and writes the combination on the outside of the safe so the police can apprehend the man responsible for starting the gang war.

Note:

This was Marjorie Anderson's final episode as Margo Lane.
