Synopsis:

Slasher Evans is making complete monkeys out of the entire police department. Having committed a series of robberies after recently escaping from prison, Slasher attributes his elusive powers to his cunning, intelligence and masterful disguises. Lamont sets out to a small town in Louisiana to track down Slasher by meeting with his brother, Charleton. He succeeds. Willing to die rather than be apprehended, the killer exchanges gunfire before shooting himself in the head. Lamont returns to New York under the guise of The Shadow, and reveals to Commissioner Weston and Margot that Charleton is the real Slasher, who performed a switcheroo in an effort to convince the police that he was dead. Exposed, Slasher uses Margot as a hostage and attempting to flee from the long arm of the law, falls to his death off a thirty-story building.
