Synopsis:

Three people have been robbed by an invisible man who leaves a calling card signed, “The Little Man Who Wasn’t There.” At the opera house, a stock exchange and a new musical show, wealthy members of society are not immune to the thefts from the invisible man, and Commissioner Weston suspects The Shadow. Hoping to clear his name and solve the mystery, Lamont questions Gabriel Hodge, the agent responsible for insuring all of the victims. Hodge is shot before revealing anything of value, and Margot’s slip of the lip almost reveals Lamont’s secret identity to the killer. By invitation of The Shadow, all three victims visit the opera house at midnight in hopes of recovering their valuables. Unaware that Commissioner Weston and Cardona are sitting silently in the orchestra pit, one of the victims is tricked by The Shadow into revealing the truth: there was no invisible man. All three schemed in the insurance fraud with those special cards left behind at the crime scenes and Hodge was silenced for obvious reasons.
