Synopsis:

On the thirteenth of each of the last three months, a wild youngster died in what appeared to be an accident. When Jimmy Meadows dies in a plane crash, Lamont suspects a pattern to the “accidents.” Following the trail to a hidden room in an underground casino, Lamont knocks out a member of the club and assumes the mask of Number Eleven to infiltrate the murderous society. Its twelve members insured themselves for a large amount of money — two million dollars total — and each month the men draw coins to see who pledges himself to die on the 13th. Notorious gambler Lefty Ricco conspired with Howard Cass, organizer of the League of Thirteen, to arrange the deaths of all others and split the pot fifty-fifty. Ignorant of the truth, the society members agree to the terms. Cass, meanwhile, forces Margot into a giant pipe that keeps an underground river from washing away the foundations. Before he can throw her over, The Shadow appears and unmasks Cass so Commissioner Weston and his men can make the arrest.
