Synopsis:
Guests at an old Spanish mansion in the Caribbean, Margot and Lamont have been trying to learn what’s behind the strange happenings terrifying the household. The doctor forbids his wife to leave the island, forcing her to call on Margot and Lamont for help. The bodies of dead natives and the servant, Hester, lead Margot to suspect the doctor of driving Diane mad while he conducts unethical experiments. Lamont explores secret subterranean passages leading to Dr. Madeira’s lab and finds a deadly weapon capable of slashing human flesh from the body. During a confrontation in a pavilion high atop a cliff, The Shadow exposes the truth — Diane is neurotic. Dr. Madeira had brought her to the island on that account. He was doing the best he could for his wife but made the mistake of confiding to Hester about Diane’s condition. Hester was secretly in love with him and more than willing to force Diane into complete insanity. Diane kills Hester but before she can make her husband the next victim she is confronted with the truth. During a ferocious windstorm, the pavilion rocks back and forth and Diane grabs her husband just as the walls fall in and the pavilion crashes to the rocks below.
