Synopsis:

Dr. Alton demonstrates his latest invention — a mechanical man — to an audience of disbelievers. When the robot goes out of control, the results are deadly, causing Alton’s wife to be crushed to death. Margot and Lamont witness the horrific event and out of pity escort the good doctor to a place where he can rest and relieve his nervous tension. Moments later Margot loses control of her car which goes off the road and overturns in a ditch. Lamont awakens the next day from having been unconscious for twenty-four hours to discover the doctor is in the hospital and Margot has vanished. Dr. Zaruga, a rival scientist, has developed his own robot and equipment capable of allowing him to seize control of other electronic equipment. Demonstrating his deadly robot in a soundproof room, Zaruga sets the mechanical man on Margot. The Shadow arrives, and having always wanted to match wits with the invisible man, Zaruga turns his robot on the intruder. The Shadow steals the control box from Zaruga and the robot turns his sights on the creator, killing him.
