Synopsis:

A Neanderthal exhibit comes to life in the city museum, striking down a guide. Adam Cain quickly changes clothes from the museum costume to 20th century apparel and starts a series of crimes across the city, attracting the attention of Lamont Cranston. In private, the two face one another. Cain knows Cranston’s secret identity. He claims to have been struck down by radioactive gasses from a meteor centuries ago, rendering him immortal. Believing he can die only by beheading or a shot to the heart, Cain asks Lamont to join him in conquering the world and growing in power, but quickly discovers the playboy will not oblige. Seeing no other solution, Lamont tricks Cain during the Neanderthal’s latest theft, locking them both in an airtight bank vault. Without air, both will die. However, fearing for Lamont’s life, Margot arrives and attempts to shoot Cain dead. During the struggle with the gun, the bullet pierces Cain’s heart, ending his millennia-long life.
