Synopsis:

A mystic Oriental dancer named Khan arrives in the U.S. to perform on stage, and assures members of the press that his appearance is for the stage, not to interfere with the execution of his criminal brother. During the performance, however, Khan hypnotizes the entire theater audience while his men grab the governor and kidnap him. Immune to Khan’s power of the mind, Lamont witnesses the affair and sets Commissioner Weston on the trail of the kidnappers. Assured this is “a war of wills,” Lamont asks Margot to visit the telephone operator and take over the connection leading to the hideout. Meanwhile, Khan and his men torture the governor until he agrees to phone the prison and order a stay of execution. The Shadow arrives and disarms the criminals. Khan attempts to use the governor as a human shield until his associate, a princess, learns that no such call was placed to the prison and that the operator was really Margot. Angry because her lover has been executed, the princess shoots Khan. Before the police can move in, she puts the gun to her head and pulls the trigger.
