Synopsis:

Dr. Macy and his beautiful niece, Laura, have returned from a seven-year expedition into the jungles of India. Having perfected a serum that will cure any disease known to man, Macy wants to donate his development to the medical world as a benefit for all mankind. Laura, however, quarrels over the financial rewards. Their house servant and former native of India, Livingston, described as an animal that walks like a man, angrily murders the doctor when he learns of the quarrel. Believing Laura is a goddess, he disposes of the doctor’s body. When Lamont discovers what happened to his good friend, he sets out to learn the location of the body. Believing Margot a more beautiful goddess, Livingston kidnaps her and attempts to sacrifice Laura in honor of Margot. The Shadow uses tom-toms to reproduce the dead man’s heartbeats and drive the subnormal, superstitious man into running out of the house and into a bullet barrage from the local sheriff.
