Synopsis:

During construction of the Coast Building, the tallest skyscraper in the city, a number of construction workers die from accidents, starting a series of rumors about the building being haunted. The architect, Robert Lewis, and the owner and financier, Jerome Need, shrug off the rumors as gossip until a voice patched into the public address system during the opening ceremony warns people that the place is haunted. As the days pass, more murders occur. Lamont investigates and, as The Shadow, questions Robert Lewis to discover the motive and method of the deaths. Robert Lewis is really Robert Deen, whose father was sentenced to prison for the attempted murder of Jerome, his former business associate. Young Robert designed a series of secret passages in the building, allowing his father, now out of prison, to commit the murders as revenge against Jerome. Exposed, Robert and his father attempt to set off a charge of dynamite that will level the building but The Shadow cuts the wires, foiling their scheme.
