Synopsis:

Mr. Carter, owner of a unique toyshop, applies the latest in science, including micrometric photographs, to create a little doll that is an exact replica of the paying client. When a high-ranking member of society is reported missing and Lamont discovers the toy store owner offering a doll for sale that is a spitting image of the missing man, The Shadow investigates the crooked doll maker. In actuality, Mr. Carter is none other than Richard Cartwright, an explorer and somewhat of a scientist who disappeared in the Ecuadorian jungles years ago. Cartwright opened up shop in town and became a doll maker. Self-conscious about his size, the madman now takes his revenge against big, powerful men by reducing them to the size of little dolls. After making a number of incisions, he removes the bones from the body and uses a reduction process similar to that used to make shrunken heads. Caught snooping, Margot is forced to become his nurse for the latest victim but faints after being asked for a scalpel. The Shadow must combat the life-size mechanical dolls that answer to Cartwright’s commands — but instead, the dolls turn wild and crush the toy-maker to death.
