Synopsis:

On All Hallow’s Eve, after a woman overheard him place a hex on the house of Heller, Mr. Protzman is accused by the town mob of practicing witchcraft. After Edvard and Deborah Heller both meet violent deaths, out-of-town tourists Lamont and Margot attempt to solve the mystery before Mr. Jarkins riles the mob into killing Protzman. The town citizens, led by Jarkins, believe the Devil himself committed the crimes because someone was witness to the sound of the Devil’s horn near the scene of the murders. Lamont pieces together the clues and finds a hidden passageway in the Heller house to prove that Badiah, one of the Heller’s servants for fifteen years, is the guilty party. The motive was robbery. Unable to resist stealing an old chiming watch, Badiah’s guilt is confirmed when The Shadow appears in front of the mob to reveal the guilty party still in possession of the watch. Unable to cope being torn apart by the mob, Badiah shoots himself and drops dead.
