Synopsis:
Jacques Covet has recently escaped Devil’s Island and seeks revenge against the three men he feels are responsible for his imprisonment: concert pianist Pierre Martin, banker Raymond Dubreel and famous surgeon Dr. James Evans. Evans lures The Shadow out of hiding in the hopes that the invisible man can help solve the mystery. All of the men are summoned together in the hope of clearing the past and facing Covet without future fear. Under the guise of Covet, Martin murders Dubreel — but not before Dubreel turns the tables on his aggressor. The Shadow reveals to the good doctor that Martin intended to get even with Dubreel for the hundred lashes he suffered while in prison, a resolve for his vengeance. The doctor was to be a witness to Covet’s crime, unaware of what the Shadow knew beforehand…the real Covet died months ago.
