Synopsis:

Following the murder of a pet shop owner who disappeared mysteriously the day before, Lamont and Margot end up at the house of Michael Strong, a well-known explorer and lecturer. Janice Strong, his neurotic daughter, has an awful illusion that she is turning into a giant cat. On their last expedition her mother was killed by a giant jungle cat which left the girl ill and nervous. From then on, Strong began to interpret every move Janice made, every word she said, as being cat-like, until the poor woman almost believed it herself. When the pet store owner wanted to deliver a cat to the house, Strong killed him. When Janice attempted to see an ex-serviceman attracted to her, Strong killed him. Confronted with the truth, Strong attempts to flee, but The Shadow puts the brakes on the car and arranges for an extended stay at a sanitarium for the killer.
