Synopsis:

After ten years of research, Dr. Karmer creates a mechanical man, complete with artificial circulation and a skillfully-transplanted human brain — that of Killer Hantrey who was electrocuted by the state. During his demonstration at the Schyler Awards, the mechanical man proves a success, cinching the doctor’s award. When Mr. Milford, chairman of the Awards Committee, is murdered by the metal monster, the robot killer evades capture. Following a trail of deaths at the hands of the monster, Lamont and Margot visit a remote country house where the monster is hiding. Lamont suspects Dr. Karmer is directing the monster for his own purposes but when Karmer and his assistant Jason are found dead, he discovers that Professor Avery Ellison, Karmer’s rival for the Schyler Award, is responsible. Ellison discovered how to operate the machine. Starting the mechanical monster by accident, Ellison decided to use the machine to murder others to cover his tracks but now the machine runs rampant, killing innocent people. The mechanical monster arrives in the house and The Shadow quickly discovers how to operate the machine using voice commands. Ellison attempts to have the machine kill The Shadow but, realizing the mechanical man cannot see the invisible avenger he shuts it down and accepts his fate with the police. The Shadow destroys the monster and it clatters to the floor in pieces.
