Synopsis:

Artist Boris Duval has perfected an electrical device that plunges temperatures two hundred degrees below zero. Similar to the heat of electricity making an electric icebox cold, he uses an atomizer to magnify the process a thousand times. After experimenting on a couple of animals, he freezes Miss Ellen Thomas, a young woman with aspirations of being a model. The madman then puts her on display among his sculptures in hopes of achieving immortality as an artist. When Ellen’s sister arrives in town, the artist orders his assistant, Marcus, to help eliminate the evidence. If Ellen’s sister sees the statue, his scheme will be exposed. Following the trail of clues left in Ellen’s apartment, Lamont learns the whereabouts of Duval’s secret hideout upstate. Duval, who has already drugged Ellen’s sister to prepare her for his process, catches Margot and intends to make her his next sculpture. The Shadow arrives and Marcus turns the atomizer on, shooting freezing rays throughout the room attempting to immobilize The Shadow in his tracks. With the lights turned off, Marcus accidentally freezes Duval and then himself. Margot helps Ellen’s sister out of the laboratory while The Shadow takes the statue of Ellen out before the place falls into an empty mine shaft as flames consume the building. A doctor in town uses a solvent from Duval’s lab to remove the plastic covering and injects Ellen with adrenalin to successfully revive her from suspended animation.
