Synopsis:

Answering a plea from an old college friend, Lamont ventures south to the swampy marshlands to uncover the evil that resides in an old southern mansion. Shortly after Phillips and his new bride arrived, she died. Dr. Sharp keeps Phillips drugged to prevent the madness and decay from spreading because Phillips suffered from a nervous breakdown; his late bride seemingly still roams the hallways dressed in black. Lamont and Margot give chase but lose the ghostly figure in a flash of lightning. After the murder of Jafus, the Negro servant and Jack, a man with the mind of a two year old, Lamont solves the mystery. Phillips suffers from a genetic strain of insanity and killed his wife after learning she was expecting a child. The doctor had attempted to keep Phillips as drugged as possible, but the patient grew fearful of the doctor and committed murder, disguised as a ghost, hoping the doctor would be accused of the crime. Lamont was phoned to come and be a condemning witness against Dr. Sharp.
