Synopsis:
Singin’ Jim, a blind beggar in a downshift neighborhood, dies from a triple concussion as a result of the strong-arm tactics of a protection racket. Lamont learns that street beggars are being forced to pay tribute. Risking his life and escaping a death trap set for him, The Shadow learns the identity of the murderers and trails them to the ringleader named Spike. Arranging for both the police and the victimized street beggars to arrive at the hideout in the pool hall, The Shadow forces the racketeers to make a choice: confess the murder of Singin’ Jim to the police or face retribution from the angry mob crying for blood. Seeing no other way out, Spike writes a confession in chalk on the blackboard.
