Synopsis:
After leaving Port Au Prince on board the yacht of a friend, Lamont and Margot witness a murder and suicide. Lucille Culver is kidnapped for ransom and Lamont spends two days finding the island in the Caribbean where she is held captive. While Margot stays on board to radio for the international police, The Shadow explores the island and introduces himself to King Malo, the high priest of the voodoo god Damballa. Malo uses a combination of witchcraft and voodoo to make himself invisible in the same manner as Lamont. The Shadow admits that Malo is the first person to ever pierce his invisibility. Using the same spirit of Damballa against him, The Shadow returns Malo to the visible world, as airplanes and destroyers arrive. Having already planted the fear of betrayal in Rollins, the man responsible for the kidnapping, the Shadow succeeds in overthrowing King Malo when Rollins shoots his partner in crime.
