Synopsis:

A fabulously wealthy South American was sailing with a party of friends on his yacht with a cargo of gold. The captain and his first mate decided to sink the ship and come back later to get the treasure. They liquidated the guests and crew with gas and machine guns when the yacht was over an underwater plateau. In a twin double- cross, the two thieves then murdered each other. Lamont and Margot are aboard Belden Hughes’ yacht in search of the same treasure from that shipwreck, supposedly guarded by the underwater dead. The first diver is attacked and his body taken. The water-drenched corpses also murder the second diver. Lamont dives down to investigate. As The Shadow, he finds the first diver surviving in an air space at the top of a compartment, and learns of his collaboration with Marks, the only person to survive the original act of sabotage. They planned to steal the treasure as Marks had initially intended but because of The Shadow and the arriving Shore Patrol, the plan falls apart.
