Synopsis:

On a return trip from South America, the luxury liner “North Star” mysteriously explodes and keels over, sunk to the harbor bottom, gutted by fire. Hundreds of passengers were sealed below in a watery grave. Among the dead is Maurice Holcomb, a millionaire who recently purchased a large diamond known as The Princess of Africa. Jim Evans of the Evans Salvage Corporation is to bring the ship to the surface so the police can begin their investigation. Two months into the salvage operation, one of his divers screams over the intercom that he is not alone. When his body is pulled to the surface, it appears his face has been burned almost beyond recognition and a maniacal voice warns them all to never come back to the ship of the dead. Lamont and Margot later dive, board the ship and explore the dry passageways in the air pocket — finding Holcomb’s business partner dead from a similar fiery fate. After seeking Holcomb’s suite, Margot comes face to face with Captain Crawford, one of the few survivors of the horrible accident. Crawford caused the accident and wants the diamond valued at five million dollars. Using an acetylene torch to break into Holcomb’s room, Crawford turns the flame on The Shadow, missing the invisible avenger until The Shadow turns it off. Attempting to flee from the scene, Crawford shuts himself in a room while the vessel shifts, flooding the compartment and drowning him.
