Synopsis:

Dr. Henry Metzger has created an experimental serum which resurrects the dead. Having tested his theory on a recently deceased hoodlum known only as Mr. X, the doctor becomes the first victim. Stealing the life-giving solution, Mr. X begins a reign of terror across the city, employing the recently deceased, and forming a mob of ghouls that cannot stopped. Lamont learns the source of the formula and that the living dead must receive an injection of the serum every twenty-four hours or they return to their former dead selves. He sets out as The Shadow to foil the schemes of the dead men, arranging for the bottle of serum to be smashed. Realizing they have only a few hours to conclude their reign of terror, Mr. X and his closest associate, Phil, speed away in their car. As a passenger in the automobile, The Shadow risks his life to cause the car to veer off the road. Lamont throws himself clear of the car before it goes over the bridge.
