Announcer: Don Hancock

Cast: Bret Morrison (Lamont Cranston/The Shadow) Lesley Woods (Margot Lane)

Music: Elsie Thompson

Synopsis:

When two wealthy bachelors are found apparently murdered by the hand of a femme fatale and the first murder was death by candlelight, Lamont and Margot search the 1902 newspapers to find a police case that mirrors the death in every detail. Following the trail to an old house uptown, the sleuths discover the famous singer, Natalie Drake, a recluse since being acquitted of a murder charge. While Margot fetches Commissioner Weston and a patrol, The Shadow enters a secret room where the aged actress lives in a fantasy world where her youthful grace has been retained — and the murders re-enacted because of her snapped mind. The Shadow removes a cloth covering the mirror so the truth can bring her back to reality. Weston arrives and gives all the credit to Margot as Lamont makes an excuse about following a wild goose chase.
