Synopsis:

During the holiday season, a young boy named Billy gives away thousand dollar bills to those in need, from the street corner Santa Claus to a crippled boy named George. Lamont and Margot do not give it a second thought until they learn from Commissioner Weston that the bills are counterfeit. Tracing down the whereabouts of young Billy, Lamont and Margot discover the boy is doing the work of his grandfather, the eccentric old banker Henry Adams. The Shadow investigates and discovers Henry’s secretary, John, has been embezzling money from the Adams account and replacing the bills with fakes. John planned to leave with the money right after the holiday but The Shadow exposes the truth. While Commissioner Weston and his men set out to find John, Henry Adams sets out to find George, the boy who believes the gift was a deliberate joke. Saving the boy’s spirit and his faith, the old man ensures the operation the kid needs will be a success and no counterfeit bills will be used to pay for it.
