Synopsis:

Lamont is struck down by a mysterious ailment that puzzles even the best doctors in town. Completely inarticulate and incapable of expressing himself, Lamont lies on a hospital cot, losing the will to live. After a bit of probing, Margot discovers that Lamont’s mind is being controlled by another who uses telepathic mental control. Dr. Dharma is using his skill to cause a series of suicides and profits from the deaths, which are staged to look like accidents because of double indemnity insurance policy clauses. Having witnessed one of the “accidents,” Lamont came to the defense of a driver, and Dharma used his influence against Lamont. Realizing that Dharma is a victim of acrophobia — the fear of high places — Margot stations Lamont closer to the hospital terrace twenty-six floors from the ground. Determined to end the life of Lamont, Dharma loses his poise for just an instant, giving Lamont the chance to seek revenge as The Shadow. In fear, Dharma accidentally falls to his death.
