Synopsis:

Lamont and Margot attempt to spoil a madman’s gory holiday by learning the identity of a firebug who commits brazen acts of human sacrifices. Applying gadgetry and sophisticated equipment, death devices are planted at various spots that spray burning oil with a flamethrower. When an executive of Eastern Chemical is the first victim, followed in succession by other officials of the company, with witnesses claiming to have heard devilish jungle music at the scene before the explosions and fire, the prime suspect is Ackley, a brilliant chemist. Having discovered he was selling chemical formulae to a notorious drug racketeer, he was discharged. Known for being steeped in the weird practices of ancient cults, the music gives away the identity of the killer. Margot, however, discovers the hard way that the real killer is Mr. Herrick, chairman of the board. Ackley arrives at the scene angry for the betrayal since Herrick is the drug racketeer. Herrick placed a hit on Ackley, which failed. Before Ackley can seek revenge for the recent deaths blamed on him, Herrick uses a flamethrower to kill the chemist. The Shadow arrives to save Margot and finds himself trapped in a crematorium. Realizing The Shadow cannot burn, Herrick kills himself by setting fire to the oil tanks. Lamont later explains to Margot that he was cloaked in asbestos material and had an oxygen mask, enabling him to survive the death chamber.
