Synopsis:

High in the snow covered Adirondack Mountains, locals talk of a werewolf responsible for a number of brutal killings. There on a skiing vacation, Lamont and Margot find terror beyond their imaginations when Dr. Vandaine uses his hypnotic abilities to retain a hold on Margot in the vein of Svengali. After a search across the countryside for Margot, Lamont finally finds her at Vandaine’s sanitarium and is forced to become The Shadow to break the hold the mad doctor has over her. The Shadow blames the recent murders on Vandaine, who takes on the guise of a werewolf to indulge in nocturnal prowling. After freeing Margot from the criminal’s grasp, Vandaine makes a break for it but before The Shadow can give chase, gunshots end the criminal’s activities. An officer of the law claimed he shot a huge grey wolf — the same one witnessed at the scene of the crimes. With Vandaine’s vague past exposed, Lamont is fairly certain that Vandaine has met justice by silver bullets…
