Synopsis:

George Piran escapes from the state hospital for the criminally insane to seek revenge against the two men responsible for his incarceration: Judge Emory and Commissioner Weston. Phoning the judge to ensure his safety, Weston is shocked to hear George Piran’s voice answer the telephone. Cardona, Weston, Lamont and Margot race to the judge’s house to find evidence of a struggle, a giant-sized man on the premises, and the disappearance of Judge Emory and his daughter Jane. Weston’s phone call to police headquarters is cut off prematurely when the giant named Brolo knocks him unconscious. Lamont suspects Piran is hiding in an old mill a mile down the road. Margot attempts to follow Lamont’s trail to the old mill and is captured by Brolo, who recently arrived with an unconscious Weston. Laughing like a madman, Piran orders Brolo to throw the judge into a pit containing man-eating crocodiles. The Shadow appears on the scene and because his will is stronger than Piran’s the giant realizes the error of his ways. Turning against his master, Brolo throws Piran into the pit. Back at Weston’s office, Lamont helps the commissioner make out his report, since the law officer was unconscious and unable to remember a single event of the evening. Brolo will be placed in an institution.
