Synopsis:
A magician named Lorenz has intentions to perform the three great tricks known only to the late Nirvan, a rival magician who took the secret of his “glass and water” chamber to the grave. Supposedly cursed by Nirvan should Lorenz accomplish his task, the magician defies the threat by performing the feats of magic in Nirvan’s own theater on the anniversary of his death. Two rival magicians are ruined professionally by Lorenz’s performance but the daring magician disappears when attempting the most sacred of feats. Among the audience are Lamont, Margot and Commissioner Weston, who begins an investigation. Shortly after the two rival magicians are found dead, Lamont and Margot discover the culprit is Lorenz who faked his disappearance so he could eliminate the competition and secure his secrets of magic. Dham, Nirvan’s former servant, revealed the secrets to Lorenz, but after learning about the murders he turns against his new employer. The Shadow tricks Lorenz into thinking he is the spirit of Nirvan, forcing a confession from the evil magician. Lorenz’s next trick will be an attempt to escape death — from the hangman’s noose.
