Synopsis:
When two men are murdered on the observation tower overlooking an aqueduct, an important wartime property, Lamont Cranston is called in to investigate. Rumor has it that a ghost roams the old graveyard below, but the murderer is most likely flesh-and blood, stemming from a family squabble between Eph Sampson and his former son-in-law, Ed Bleecker. Eph demands an autopsy on the body of his wife to prove Ed poisoned her but Lamont tricks all the suspects into venturing into the bronze mausoleum where the truth comes out. Okie Joe, the town drunk, is really Chuck Kandor, a bank robber recently released on good behavior. Kandor hid fifty thousand dollars he had stolen in the coffin of Bessie Sampson and wanted to retrieve his money. When The Shadow tries to foil his scheme, the criminal slides the key under the door, trapping them all inside. Thankfully, The Shadow already talked to an FBI agent, who arrives to unlock the door and take the murderer into custody.
