Synopsis:

In the Tableaux of Horror, a wax museum in a carnival on Joy Island, Lamont and Margot stumble upon two corpses recently disguised as wax figures on display. The bodies mysteriously disappear before Commissioner Weston and his men arrive. Disillusioned, Lamont and Margot investigate a passageway, discovering what appears to be the ghost of a subway train filled with passengers. After surviving a quicksand trap, Lamont takes after Pop Wright, the old man in charge of the wax museum, and rescues Margot, whom Pop has kidnapped. It seems Pop’s mind snapped after a train wreck years ago accidentally killed forty-plus passengers. Pop now keeps the train operating every night with “passengers” who are all corpses of victims he acquired from time to time. Before Pop can make Margot his latest victim, The Shadow tricks the old man into believing he is one of the evil spirits from the past and a frightened Pop runs away only to fall into the quicksand and die.
