Synopsis:

A notorious masked man employs a number of agents to follow his “manual of crime” to set off explosions across the town, creating a series of murders and terror. One of his agents is a brilliant chemist, John Jones, whose wife discovers how he spends his late night hours and attempts to warn a chemical company of an impending bomb. When her dead body gives Lamont a clue, he sends Margot to tail Jones while he attempts to learn the source of the explosives. Margot is quickly caught by the agents and taken to the mastermind, Richard Manton, a criminal lawyer. Realizing Lamont is also on his tail, Manton uses Margot as bait in a specially designed prison cell rigged with explosives. Manton believes he has The Shadow trapped when the avenger arrives to save her but he quickly discovers The Shadow cannot be killed. After wasting bullets in the room, Manton turns the gun on himself. Later, Lamont explains to Margot how he avoided the explosives and how Manton fell victim to the same delusion that sooner or later destroys all criminal minds.
