Synopsis:

Having finished serving a five-year prison sentence, Blacky Carmichael sets his sights on The Shadow, who was responsible for his incarceration. Strong enough to crush a silver dollar in his hand, Blacky speaks to the rackets kings to convince them to fund an operation and purchase a private island in the middle of White Lake. After laying a trail of murder and robbery across the city, Blacky waits on the island for The Shadow, knowing ripples in the lake would give his location away. Swimming out to the small island, The Shadow discovers Blacky waiting for him. After holding The Shadow’s head underwater to drown him, Blacky and his associate make their getaway in a speedboat. The police arrive but before Blacky can use a machine gun against them, The Shadow pushes it into the water. After his associate is shot and killed, Blacky gives up. Later, Lamont explains to Margot that he used to be good at water polo so he could hold his breath for a sustained period, tricking Blacky into thinking he had drowned.
