Synopsis:

College football hero Jim Walters accidentally drops a pass which makes gambler Ken Kirk a lot of money. He attempts to pay the lad off but Jim, being an honest player, punches Kirk and orders him to leave. Witnesses see Kirk leave Jim’s room and rumors spread. While Jim is branded a cheat, Kirk is found dead in a hotel room. Lamont doesn’t have to look far — Jim’s fiancée, Julie Duff, was the culprit. She had been working with Kirk to make promising football players fall in love with her and thus create a reason why a player like Jim would need money. Jim’s honesty caused a complication, so she used her business partner Whitney to silence Kirk and put Jim out of the way before the situation got too complicated. Confronted with the truth, Margot and Lamont are taken for a ride in a car driven by Whitey. Lamont vanishes and, as The Shadow, combats Whitey in the front seat while Margot jumps out. Before the car goes over a cliff, killing Julie and Whitey, Lamont leaps out too.
